20 years is a long time to spend doing anything at all. It’s an age for any group of people to sustain acollective effort. For a band on the road, 20 years can be more than a lifetime. Yet, after 2 decadesof making music together in living rooms, listening rooms, clubs, theaters, and festival stages, TheSteel Wheels are still growing, still pushing, still at it, and they’re marking the occasion with therelease of their 9th studio album, “The Steel Wheels”.Following the release of “Sideways” in 2024, their 3rd record with producer Sam Kassirer at hisGreat North Sound Society studio in interior Maine, the band felt it was time for a change of scene. As the group began to select songs for a new album, they also had to find an answer to the questionof where they would get down to the work of record-making. They didn’t know that answer was goingto knock on their back door.At the band’s 2024 Red Wing Roots festival, held each summer near the group’s home base ofHarrisonburg, VA, banjo player and songwriter Trent Wagler spied producer and engineer D. JamesGoodwin (Goose, Bonny Light Horseman, I’m With Her) in the crowd and later reached out to learnwhat he was doing so far from his home turf of New York. It happened that Goodwin, who mixed theband’s 2019 album “Over The Trees”, had just pulled up stakes for the Shenandoah Valley and wassetting up a new studio on the band’s doorstep. Several months and one video call later, Wagler, fiddler Eric Brubaker, multi-instrumentalist Jay Lapp, drummer/percussionist Kevin Garcia, and bassplayer Jeremy Darrow gathered in the new space, The Isokon, snug against the snowy Virginiawinter, to begin recording their next album. The process that Goodwin cultivated was fluid and swift. Demo listening in the morning flowed intotracking the whole band live in one room. The session was punctuated by peals of laughter andoccasional tears as the group kept themselves in the moment, leaning in to every emotion andembracing that vulnerability. As they worked, the music took shape in the moment, right in front ofthe microphones, each participant listening and responding as the songs flickered to life. By dinnertime the songs of the day were complete and talk moved to the next day’s work. The album that resulted from this process captures the multifaceted band in full-flight, pivotingeffortlessly between the folk rock band they’ve grown into over 20 years, and the harmony-centricacoustic ensemble that they’ve been since the beginning. The band puts their impressive range ondisplay throughout “The Steel Wheels”; energy, insight, and humor, balance with tender, highlypersonal moments of masterful restraint and expression as the album unfolds. As ever, the bandchallenges themselves to find new ways through the music, using space and, at moments, reinventing their approach to the string band format.
Pink Beds sits at the intersection of spacious grooves and lush song-crafting. If All I Have, the band's debut 2020 LP, was a love letter to the sounds that surrounded them in Appalachia, the March 2024 follow-up, Spare Key To A Memory, is a nuanced and evolved form, showcasing their love of lush, angular, and ethereal sounds designed to resonate with our deepest emotional experiences. Shifting from a lockdown songwriting project to an electrifying live act, the band has taken on a vibrant and captivating quality all to their own. Playing off of the spark of a live environment, the band evolves and expands upon their familiar compositions, taking them to new and exciting places. After securing a foothold in southeast markets, becoming a FloydFest On-the-Rise artist, a Relix Magazine Sonic Showdown Finalist, and making prominent regional festival appearances, the band is eager to bring these new songs and experiences to audiences throughout 2024. Pink Beds from Asheville, NC comprises Aaron Aiken (Vocals, Guitar, Keys, Synths), Jackson Van Horn (Guitar, Keys, Synths), Logan Hall (Bass, Synths), and Ryan Sargent (Drums, Percussion). The group explores their shared influences nurtured by a deep bond with one another.
Launched a little more than twenty years ago in Raleigh, North Carolina, Chatham County Line built a devoted local following on the strength of their genre-bending live show—an intoxicating blend of bluegrass, folk, country, and rock and roll—before breaking out internationally with their 2003 self-titled debut. In the years to come, the band would go on to release eight more critically acclaimed studio albums, top the Billboard Bluegrass Chart four times, collaborate with the likes of Judy Collins, Sharon Van Etten, and Norwegian star Jonas Fjeld, earn two gold records in Norway (where they were also twice nominated for the Spellemannprisen, Norway’s equivalent of a Grammy), and share bills with everyone from Guy Clark and Lyle Lovett to Steve Martin & Martin Short and The Avett Brothers. NPR hailed the group as “a bridge between bluegrass traditions and a fresh interpretation of those influences,” while Uncut lauded their “powerful melodies and gorgeous harmonies,” and Pitchfork dubbed their music “timeless.” The band’s latest release, Hiyo, marks the band’s first release since the departure of their longtime banjo player and serves as something of a reintroduction to the roots stalwarts, complete with new sounds, new collaborators, and a whole new lease on life. Recorded at Asheville’s Echo Mountain studio with co-producer/engineer Rachael Moore (Kacey Musgraves, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss), the collection finds the trio—Dave Wilson (lead singer/guitarist), John Teer (fiddle/mandolin) and Greg Readling (bass/pedal steel), embracing change at every turn, experimenting with fresh sonic palettes and innovative approaches to their core instrumentation. The songwriting remains classic Chatham County Line here—rich, evocative tales of love and heartbreak, joy and sorrow, righteousness and revenge—but the settings have evolved to incorporate synthesizers, drum machines, and more electric guitar and percussion than ever before. Given the group’s string band roots and decades spent singing around a single microphone, the results are nothing short of revelatory, taking an enduring sound and injecting it with a thrilling new spirit of discovery and vitality. Venue and ticketing information:We are family friendly, but shows are 21+ unless accompanied by a parent. This is a general admission show. There are tables within the venue that are available on a first come, first serve basis. There is a garage door behind the stage that remains open in good weather so that you can enjoy the show from inside or outside. For more information visit our FAQ page or reach out to us directly.

Free Event / no reservations necessary. Some things are just meant to be. Alicia Best (US) and Robert Jackson (UK) met while busking on the cobbled streets of Ireland and discovered both a musical and personal harmony that was serendipitous. In the decade since forming A Different Thread, Best and Jackson have taken their act on the road, touring over a dozen countries, supporting artists such as The Milk Carton Kids and Jody Stephens (Big Star), winning the International Acoustic Music Awards, and garnering critical praise from the likes of KLOF Mag, which hailed the duo as: “Warm, deep songwriters that have drank from the well of 20th century tradition.” Their new album, Over Again (out May 26’), was written during a period of transition, marked by their arrival stateside and a solar eclipse. Recording began in their tiny home studio, continued in Sylvan Esso's Betty's (The Mountain Goats, Tyler Childers, Watchhouse), and finished at Alma Vale Studio (Phantom Limb/Yola, Elles Bailey) in the UK.Their sound is transcontinental, blending Jackson's British folk rock background with Best's North Carolina-bred alt-country melodies. Informed by their life experiences (navigating visas, van-life, love across oceans) and liberal commentary on both environmental and social justice topics, the album mixes electric guitars with Appalachian dulcimer, gospel-tinged vocals with honky-tonk fiddle. While inspired by artists like Gillian Welch, The Band, and John Prine, A Different Thread maintain a distinct sound that is all their own.Alicia and Robert see the creation of Over Again as a testament to the power that music has to heal and transform: “For us, this album marks a new beginning, like a rebirth, as we shed negative cycles to work towards a brighter future.” Venue and ticketing information:We are family friendly, but shows are 21 and up unless accompanied by a parent. This is a general admission show. There are tables within the venue that are available on a first come, first serve basis. There is a garage door behind the stage that remains open in good weather so that you can enjoy the show from inside or outside. For more information visit our FAQ page or reach out to us directly.

He’s got the look (you won’t miss the fiery orange mustache), the chops (named one of the top 30 blues guitarists at the International Blues Challenge), the voice (smooth, soulful, and full of grit) and most importantly, he’s got heart that he brings to every note. Hailing from the hills of Eastern Kentucky, he calls his sound “Appalachian Space Funk” a genre-bending blend of gritty blues, deep funk, and Southern soul, and his vibrant stage presence is igniting stages across the country. Even if you’ve never heard his name before, there’s a good chance you’ve felt his vibe. Short is carving a name for himself as one of the most dynamic performers on today’s roots and jam circuit. He’s shared stages with Grace Bowers, John Oates, Jared James Nichols, Wynonna Judd, Ben Folds, Tommy Prine, Maggie Rose, Sierra Hull, Lucas Nelson, Tyler Childers, Kingfish, Marcus King, John Osborne, and Taj Mahal, and lit up festival crowds at places like Bonnaroo, FloydFest, Healing Appalachia, and Master Musicians Festival. This is lose-yourself, forget-the-world, dance-until-you’re-sweaty kind of music, and everyone is welcome. Whether you’re a diehard blues fan, a funk enthusiast, or just someone who wants to feel something real, a Jeremy Short show will leave you buzzing for days. Marc Ridge & The Revelers are a 3 piece band out of Lafayette Indiana. Playing a blend of Roots Rock, Blues and Country Soul.
Every second Thursday of the month is Honky Tonk Night! This evening's featured band is Carolina Sage. Join us for line dancing lessons at 6:00 and music at 7:00. About the band: Born and raised in Muhlenberg County, KY (yes, the one from John Prine’s “Paradise”) on a small goat and horse farm in the heart of coal country, Grayson Jenkins is equal parts songwriter, storyteller, traveler and country music artist. At his core, Jenkins is a curious truth-seeker, observing and writing about his own choices and circumstances; along with those of family, friends and strangers. He finds inspiration in his travels, conversations at the grocery store, traumatic events, and really anything that life sheds an interesting light on. Jenkins' songs have gained the admiration of a loyal following, and fellow songwriters like Pony Bradshaw, Vincent Neil Emerson, and Nicholas Jamerson - all of whom have brought Jenkins on the road with them in the past two years. After 10+ years spent in Lexington, KY, where he obtained agricultural degrees from and worked for the University of Kentucky, Jenkins now travels extensively across the United States and beyond, staying for short stints in places that inspire him while maintaining a home base in Kentucky. Though he’s not sure where exactly to call “home” at this point in his life, he finds his purpose in the pursuit of songwriting and performing his brand of country music with over one-quarter million miles logged touring across the U.S., UK, and Canada. Like fellow Kentuckians, Sturgill Simpson and Keith Whitley, Grayson Jenkins has carved out his own corner in country music through the release of four independent albums and heavy touring. His releases have garnered the attention of American Songwriter and The Bluegrass Situation, while he has made festival appearances at Railbird Music Festival, Master Musicians Festival, and more. With a hopeful resignation and canny insight into the ways of the world, Jenkins delivers songs influenced by his own searches for truth, world travels, and turns of phrases found in the rich storytelling communities across Kentucky and beyond. As a listener, you may just find some truth in his songs for yourself.
Launched in August of 2020, Tuesday Casual Collaborations at 185 King Street has become a cornerstone of the vibrant Brevard music community. Every week Travis Book assembles a unique group of musicians for a one-time-only show, drawing on his vast network of friends and growing repertoire of musical styles. From Bluegrass to Blues, Songwriter to Americana, Country to Funk, Travis and his ever-evolving cast of local and national (even international) musicians consistently hit the sweet spot between preparation and spontaneity. “Eventually, I hope to play with everyone!” he occasionally boasts, and he’s well on his way. Travis has hosted a wide range of musicians, including: Anders Beck, Nicki Bluhm, Josh Daniel, Beppe Gambetta, Mike Guggino, Vince Herman, Sierra Hull, Cris Jacobs, Jim Lauderdale, Lindsay Lou, Steve McMurry, Mimi Naja, Tim O’Brien, Woody Platt, Jon Stickley, Kyle Tuttle, and Cristina Vane. He also regularly employs the skills of world-class local musicians like Jeff Sipe, Mike Ashworth, Tommy Maher, Bennett Sullivan, and Derick Gardner. Every week is unique, the musical styles wide-ranging, but the one thing that remains constant is the intention, positivity, and charisma that Travis brings to each and every show. This week Travis is on tour so he is handing the hosting duties over to John Cowan and Luke Bulla. When John Cowan and Luke Bulla perform together, their shows reflect 25 years of shared history, musical trust, and genuine friendship. Blending New Grass Revival (and more) favorites with old and new originals, they pair masterful picking, rich harmony, and stories that are heartfelt, funny, and hard-earned. Cowan calls Bulla “one of the most beautiful gifts” of his long musical life, while Bulla, inspired by Cowan since his youth, considers sharing the stage a “dream come true” and a source of “immense gratitude and honor”. Together, they deliver music rooted in gratitude, joy, and deep mutual respect.
Empire Strikes Brass is a dynamic BrassFunkRock band hailing from Asheville, North Carolina. Their music resonates with a powerful message delivered through a captivating and larger-than-life sound. Fueled by a thumping rhythm section that sets the groove, the band's rich horn arrangements, performed by a robust horn section, add an extra layer of depth to both their original compositions and compelling covers, showcasing the evolution of ESB. Formed in 2012, Empire Strikes Brass started as a group of friends who loved playing New Orleans-inspired second-line and funk tunes infused with elements of rock and jam. Over time, they have transformed into a collective of incredibly talented musicians, singers, songwriters, and producers. The result is a fresh and authentic sound that seamlessly combines their diverse musical influences while staying true to their roots. The band boasts a remarkable lineup of artists, each bringing their own unique contribution to the table. From the rich vocals, and harmonious saxophone of Grammy Award-winning artist Debrissa McKinney (known for her work with Secret Agent 23 Skidoo) to the masterful keyboard and production skills of Lenny Pettinelli, the thunderous beats of drummer Nik Hope, the solid bass lines of JP Furnas, the melodic guitar riffs of Chris Porter, the soulful trumpet sounds of Alex Bradley, and the sky high notes of Tim Morgan on trumpet, the smooth trombone of Jacob Bruner, the vibrant saxophone of Pauly Juhl, and the versatile keyboard and percussion talents of Sean Donnelly, every member of ESB plays a crucial role in the band's success. Since their inception, Empire Strikes Brass has become a staple at various festivals across the USA, leaving a lasting impression with their infectious energy and electrifying performances. Their horn section has also had the honor of sharing the stage with esteemed acts like Shpongle Live Band, Umphrey's McGee, Papadosio, and many more iconic names in the funk and jam scene. Read more...
This week Travis is on tour so he is handing the hosting duties over to Natalya Zoe Weinstein and John Cloyd Miller. They will be joined by Graham Sharp (Steep Canyon Rangers) and San Sankarin (Unspoken Tradition). Zoe & Cloyd—the creative partnership of fiddler/vocalist Natalya Zoe Weinstein and multi-instrumentalist/vocalist John Cloyd Miller—prove that opposites truly do attract. Hailing from two distinct musical worlds, they merge their unique backgrounds into a powerful collaboration that has garnered both critical acclaim and widespread appeal. Natalya, a classically trained musician from Massachusetts with deep roots in klezmer and jazz, joins forces with John, a 12th-generation North Carolinian and grandson of pioneering bluegrass fiddler Jim Shumate. Together, they create music that honors their respective traditions while forging a distinctive sound of their own. This award-winning duo’s work has been praised by Bluegrass Unlimited Magazine as “a musical collaboration that demands to be heard." Venue and ticketing information:We are family friendly, but shows are 21+ unless accompanied by a guardian. For this show you have the option of purchasing a table or a general admission ticket. When purchasing a table you are purchasing the number of tickets that the tables seats. For example if you purchase a 4-top table you are purchasing 4 tickets General admission tickets gain you access to the rear of the venue, behind the seated sections as well as the backyard. There are tables outside and limited seating in the indoor general admission area. For more heavily attended shows the indoor general admission area is standing room only. There is a garage door behind the stage that remains open in good weather so that you can enjoy the show from inside or outside. Our general rule is if the temperature will remain above 50 degrees for the duration of the show the door will remain open. For more information visit our FAQ page or reach out to us directly.

Formed in 2021, the band emerged from the underground house show scene in Boone, North Carolina, blending Southern rock, jam traditions, and modern sensibilities. Their sound is built on live energy, with each performance capturing the raw spirit of their music—no studio tricks or polished layers. Jacoozy’s songwriting is deeply rooted in introspection, capturing moments of time and self-reflection while celebrating their Southern roots and the communities that have shaped them. The band’s approach to music is collaborative, shaped by their basement jams and experimental spirit.
Parker Barrow, the blues-infused Southern rock band led by husband and wife duo Megan Kane (vocals) and Dylan Turner (drums), supported by the formidable Alex Bender (guitar) is a powerhouse group, taking the stage by storm as anything from a 5-piece to a 10-piece band – boasting a distinctive musical style. Forged from an immediate connection, the band finds inspiration in the infamous duo of Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow. Kane and Turner aim to infuse their music with the iconic energy of a dynamic duo, portraying a narrative where, instead of evading the law, they are a dynamic pair in pursuit of their rock ‘n’ roll dreams. Unleashing their full creative force, the band poured everything into their inaugural 10-track album, Jukebox Gypsies, released on August 11, 2023. This collection of songs chronicles the couple’s four-year journey, from a serendipitous meeting to navigating life on the road in an RV, capturing both the highs and lows. Each song serves as a reflection of their emotions and experiences, discovering a harmonious balance amid the chaos. “One of the best parts of releasing this album was getting to hear that people are connecting with our music and hearing people talk about our music the way we talk about some of our favorite bands,” Kane and Turner gushed. “It’s been an awesome ride with this record and we’re still enjoying the wave till we reach the shore and can paddle back out for round two!” Drawing significant inspiration from The Black Crowes, The Allman Brothers Band, Tedeschi Trucks Band, and Whiskey Myers, Parker Barrow seamlessly incorporates blues into each arrangement. The band’s true brilliance emerges in their live performances, marked by lively flights and a showcase of their grounded charisma. Turner and Kane, bound by a shared vision, genuine passion, and a love for life on the road, hold their relationship in high esteem through music and faith. As kindred spirits, they eagerly anticipate continuing to create and perform together in this next chapter of life. Whether in intimate acoustic sets or impactful full-band shows, it’s clear that the couple is precisely where they should be. Jukebox Gypsies, a record with high praise, catapulted Parker Barrow throughout the year 2023. Rock & Blues Muse journalist Mike O’Cull applauded the album saying, “Parker Barrow absolutely swings for the fences on their 10-track debut album Jukebox Gypsies… this much-anticipated record over-delivers on all levels and should do much to jump Parker Ba Jukebox Gypsies marks a significant milestone in Parker Barrow’s musical journey and there’s nothing but greatness in store for their future. With the release of their brand new singles’ ‘Make It‘ (April ’25) and ‘Novocaine‘ (July ’25) recieve rave reviews the band has states their claim in the southern rock scene and has no plans of slowing down.
Hailing from Annapolis, Maryland, the powerhouse trio Pressing Strings, led by guitarist and vocalist Jordan Sokel, has earned a loyal following with their genre bending blend of blues, rock, and folk, wrapped in soul-stirring storytelling and toe tapping grooves. Their music resonates with the emotional grit of blues, the laidback swagger of folk, and the urgency of modern rock. Whether delivering heartfelt ballads or energetic anthems, Pressing Strings weaves lyrical introspection and high-caliber musicianship that feels both fresh and familiar. Sokel’s smokey voice and intricate guitar work is complimented masterfully by a star rhythm section. Held down tightly by drummer Justin Kruger, an energetic and charismatic performer whose style mirrors his outside the box personality and unique approach to the instrument, and bassist Nick Welker, a solid and stoic figure who picks melodic lines and chordal voicings that makes the trio sound full and lush. All three members sing, adding harmonies reminiscent of southern California in the 70’s. Together they push the limits of what a trio can do, and provide an immersive, feel-good vibe that hits the audience’s heart as hard as it does the ears. Recently, the band has been touring the US coast-to-coast, headlining clubs and delighting audiences at festivals such as Palisade Roots and Bluegrass Festival, FloydFest, Annapolis Baygrass Music Festival, Firefly, Sweetwater 420Fest, and Cavefest, while sharing the stage with major artists like Gov’t Mule, Toad The Wet Sprocket, JJ Grey, and Neil Francis. For more information, visit https://pressingstrings.com Venue and ticketing information:We are family friendly, but shows are 21+ unless accompanied by a parent. This is a general admission show. There are tables within the venue that are available on a first come, first serve basis. There is a garage door behind the stage that remains open in good weather so that you can enjoy the show from inside or outside. For more information visit our FAQ page or reach out to us directly.

ALBUM RELEASE SHOW: Admiral Radio, the award-winning folk/Americana act from South Carolina, is the creative partnership of Coty Hoover and Becca Smith. Named after their old wooden radio, this husband-and-wife team blends heartfelt harmonies, storytelling, and raw sincerity. From humble beginnings to their growing buzz, Admiral Radio is redefining the folk tradition with every mile down America's backroads.

The music of Asheville, North Carolina based outfit Amanda Anne Platt & The Honeycutters is nuanced, bringing insight and wit to the stories Platt tells through songwriting. Lyrically driven, the band's country roots music often inspires introspection, whether it be about life on the road, heartache or hope. There is an empathetic and charming wit ingrained in Platt's songwriting. She has a knack for accessing a deep well of emotion and applying it to her storytelling, whether she is writing from her own experiences or immersing herself into the melody of emotions in another person's life.Performing along with Platt, The Honeycutters are Matt Smith (pedal steel and electric guitars), Kevin Williams (keys/vocals), Rick Cooper (bass/vocals), and Evan Martin (drums/vocals).
