Highly regarded, as one of Bluegrass music’s most recognizable and finest high lead and tenor vocalist, Larry Stephenson has been headlining festivals and concerts for 30 years. He formed The Larry Stephenson Band in 1989 while living in his home state of Virginia. Larry’s crystal-clear tenor voice has provided a musical home for some of the finest sidemen in contemporary bluegrass history. Many appearances on the Grand Ole Opry and RFD-TV has made The Larry Stephenson Band a fan favorite all across the US and Canada. Born in Harrisonburg, VA and raised in King George, VA, Larry’s Dad put a mandolin in his hand at the age of 5 and by the age of 11, Larry cut his first record. Graduating high school in 1976, Larry and his Dad had a very popular regional band for 3 years, performing at festivals, concerts and regulars at The Wheeling Jamboree in Wheeling, WV. From there, he worked with Cliff Waldron, Leon Morris while soaking up the Washington, DC rich musical scene. In 1979, Larry went to work with Bill Harrell and The Virginians for 4 ½ years and then in June of 1983 went to work with The Bluegrass Cardinals and stayed for 5-½ year. That band configuration is often referred to as one of the “classic lineups of the Bluegrass Cardinals”. Larry also credits the rich music scene of Virginia and Washington, DC for much of his musical success, having seen and heard the first generation bluegrass performers in person and on radio. While Larry Stephenson is best know as a touring musician whose voice sets a standard of melody, clarity and storytelling, he has had an active and well-awarded recording career. Starting his recording career for Webco Records of Virginia and then 18 years with Pinecastle Records, releasing 18 albums during that period. Signature songs in Larry Stephenson’s vast catalog in that period include “Patches”, “Yes, I See God”, “Clinch Mountain Mystery”, “Many Hills Of Time”, “The Knoxville Girl”, “The Knoxville Boy”, “The Pretty Blue Dress”, “ I Should’ve Called” and “The Violet And The Rose”.
If patience is a virtue, then the current state of Magnolia Boulevard plays right into the long-held notion that sonic grandeur evolves in its own time and place — one where the Lexington, Kentucky, rock-n-soul act is aiming to break into a national audience ready and roaring for the quintet’s soaring talents.“Things happen when they’re supposed to happen,” lead singer/guitarist Maggie Noelle says. “And I’m so proud of this music coming out now with this group of dudes — it’s like we’re finally getting what we kind of deserve.”“We know who we are now, and we know what we want to do,” adds keyboardist Ryan Allen. “We know what we want to sound like. Everybody involved is on the same path. We’ve got the same mission and we feel good about it. These songs have been cared for and thought about, where everything is happening with intention — there’s purpose behind the music.”That mission of luminous tone and honest intent is no more apparent than Magnolia Boulevard’s latest self-titled album. Captured by legendary Kentucky producer Duane Lundy, the eight-song LP runs the gamut of genres, all with thick threads of the blues and soul radiating from the tracks.“We like a lot of different things, so let’s start a band that’s blues and soul, the rest being whatever else we feel like adding,” Allen says. “These are songs and stories of the struggles of Appalachian people, these little snapshots of time of what it’s like to live around here.”“Inspiration comes and goes,” Noelle adds. “I’ve realized, in these later years of songwriting, I tend to write about my current life and where my heart is.”Formed in 2017 by Noelle and Allen, the band came together when other creative endeavors weren’t fulfilling the artistic desires and professional expectations of what the duo were envisioning. It was time to push down the gas pedal on the possibility and potential of what Magnolia Boulevard could be, and ultimately has become — in sonic design and in the live realm. “The sound has been described as ‘Appalachian Soul,’ and I really like that because of our Appalachian roots,” Noelle says. “You get a taste of folk with the songwriting portion, but you also have that rock and soul foundation.”Watching Noelle under the bright lights, her stage presence immediately conjures whispers in the audience, where her fiery vocal talents are compared to the likes of Susan Tedeschi, Bonnie Raitt, and Grace Potter. And yet, Magnolia Boulevard remains unique and steadfast in its approach. Read more...
The Jeff Sipe Trio is made up of Jeff Sipe, Mike Seal and Taylor Lee. “That the power of the melody comes through matters more than anything to me,” reflects drummer, composer, and bandleader Jeff Sipe. His selfless dedication to the song at hand – to elevating it, enriching it, and propelling it – is why Sipe has long been considered a leading light in a vital, unique musical landscape that expands to encompass elements of jazz, rock, country, and funk. It’s a landscape he helped to create, over a career now spanning more than three decades and including membership in such influential outfits as Colonel Bruce Hampton’s Aquarium Rescue Unit in collaborations with Shawn Lane, Jonas Hellborg, Phil Lesh, Béla Fleck, Jeff Coffin, Warren Haynes & the Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration, Debashish Bhattacharya and many more. The accessible, open-hearted compositions that make up “Jeff Sipe Trio” are largely contributed by Sipe’s partners in the trio, guitarist Mike Seal and bassist Taylor Lee. “I first heard Mike Seal when he was 20 years old,” Sipe recalls. “I was immediately impressed with his style. This is a guy with a strong connection to the Appalachian gospel song book and an advanced ear for harmony. His rhythmic sense is also really highly developed, partially because he plays finger style, without a pick. This gives him a natural polyrhythmic approach.” Throughout “Jeff Sipe Trio”, Seal melds seamlessly with bassist Taylor Lee, who beautifully exploits the full range and potential of his instrument, from driving subterranean basslines to singing, upper-register lead passages. Now only 25, Lee has played with Sipe for the past four years. “His love of music is obvious,” Sipe explains, “and his dedication to the bass has produced a truly inspired musician, with an intuitive gift for melody and a really great feel.” And they’re among the nicest people you’ll meet! Her soaring vocals and achingly candid songwriting bind the rooted weightlessness of gospel with the low-down heaviness of rock & roll. Her fresh take on Country-Folk revivalist sounds blend the sacred and profane, the holy and the mundane. Liliana’s music feels eternally relatable, tapping into tradition to create work that is totally unique and completely her own. Fresh off of her 2023 release "Last Line" Liliana wasted no time bringing her next original album "Grace" to all audiences on December 11th, 2025.
The Fretliners are a band carrying the sound of a changing American landscape. Rooted in bluegrass and reaching into Americana, folk, and rock, their music feels weathered by the road and shaped by the people and places that raised them. Winners of the Telluride and RockyGrass New Artist competitions, they write about real ground: dirt roads and dry creeks, the people who leave and the people who stay. Their new album came the way the best things always have — not from strategy, but from showing up. A festival campground. A fireside conversation with folk hero. And one thing led to another, the way it does when the connection is real, until the band was making a record with the legendary T Bone Burnett. The Fretliners are not chasing a revival. They are building something that lasts: honest songs, timeless stories, and a sound that feels like home.
There’s a reason why Ricky Skaggs pulled Eric and Leigh Gibson off the stage at the Ryman two decades ago and offered to produce their debut record. The same thing that led David Ferguson and Grammy Award winning producer and Black Keys frontman Dan Auerbach to co-write and produce their 14th album “Mockingbird” (2018) and release it on his own label Easy Eye Sound alongside cultural icons such as Hank Williams Jr. and Dr. John: the Gibson Brothers are the real deal. They can pick. They can sing. And they can write a damn good country song. They’ve won about every bluegrass award you can name and released albums on almost every premier Americana label you can think of including Sugar Hill and Rounder, and, if that’s not enough, their songs have been recorded by bluegrass legends no less than Del McCoury. It’s a resume almost anybody in country music would be proud to have. Yet, after 2 decadesof making music together in living rooms, listening rooms, clubs, theaters, and festival stages, TheSteel Wheels are still growing, still pushing, still at it, and they’re marking the occasion with therelease of their 9th studio album, “The Steel Wheels”.Following the release of “Sideways” in 2024, their 3rd record with producer Sam Kassirer at hisGreat North Sound Society studio in interior Maine, the band felt it was time for a change of scene. As the group began to select songs for a new album, they also had to find an answer to the questionof where they would get down to the work of record-making. They didn’t know that answer was goingto knock on their back door.At the band’s 2024 Red Wing Roots festival, held each summer near the group’s home base ofHarrisonburg, VA, banjo player and songwriter Trent Wagler spied producer and engineer D. JamesGoodwin (Goose, Bonny Light Horseman, I’m With Her) in the crowd and later reached out to learnwhat he was doing so far from his home turf of New York. It happened that Goodwin, who mixed theband’s 2019 album “Over The Trees”, had just pulled up stakes for the Shenandoah Valley and wassetting up a new studio on the band’s doorstep. Several months and one video call later, Wagler, fiddler Eric Brubaker, multi-instrumentalist Jay Lapp, drummer/percussionist Kevin Garcia, and bassplayer Jeremy Darrow gathered in the new space, The Isokon, snug against the snowy Virginiawinter, to begin recording their next album. The process that Goodwin cultivated was fluid and swift. Demo listening in the morning flowed intotracking the whole band live in one room. The session was punctuated by peals of laughter andoccasional tears as the group kept themselves in the moment, leaning in to every emotion andembracing that vulnerability. As they worked, the music took shape in the moment, right in front ofthe microphones, each participant listening and responding as the songs flickered to life. By dinnertime the songs of the day were complete and talk moved to the next day’s work. The album that resulted from this process captures the multifaceted band in full-flight, pivotingeffortlessly between the folk rock band they’ve grown into over 20 years, and the harmony-centricacoustic ensemble that they’ve been since the beginning. The band puts their impressive range ondisplay throughout “The Steel Wheels”; energy, insight, and humor, balance with tender, highlypersonal moments of masterful restraint and expression as the album unfolds. As ever, the bandchallenges themselves to find new ways through the music, using space and, at moments, reinventing their approach to the string band format.
Launched a little more than twenty years ago in Raleigh, North Carolina, Chatham County Line built a devoted local following on the strength of their genre-bending live show—an intoxicating blend of bluegrass, folk, country, and rock and roll—before breaking out internationally with their 2003 self-titled debut. In the years to come, the band would go on to release eight more critically acclaimed studio albums, top the Billboard Bluegrass Chart four times, collaborate with the likes of Judy Collins, Sharon Van Etten, and Norwegian star Jonas Fjeld, earn two gold records in Norway (where they were also twice nominated for the Spellemannprisen, Norway’s equivalent of a Grammy), and share bills with everyone from Guy Clark and Lyle Lovett to Steve Martin & Martin Short and The Avett Brothers. NPR hailed the group as “a bridge between bluegrass traditions and a fresh interpretation of those influences,” while Uncut lauded their “powerful melodies and gorgeous harmonies,” and Pitchfork dubbed their music “timeless.” The band’s latest release, Hiyo, marks the band’s first release since the departure of their longtime banjo player and serves as something of a reintroduction to the roots stalwarts, complete with new sounds, new collaborators, and a whole new lease on life. Recorded at Asheville’s Echo Mountain studio with co-producer/engineer Rachael Moore (Kacey Musgraves, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss), the collection finds the trio—Dave Wilson (lead singer/guitarist), John Teer (fiddle/mandolin) and Greg Readling (bass/pedal steel), embracing change at every turn, experimenting with fresh sonic palettes and innovative approaches to their core instrumentation. The songwriting remains classic Chatham County Line here—rich, evocative tales of love and heartbreak, joy and sorrow, righteousness and revenge—but the settings have evolved to incorporate synthesizers, drum machines, and more electric guitar and percussion than ever before. Given the group’s string band roots and decades spent singing around a single microphone, the results are nothing short of revelatory, taking an enduring sound and injecting it with a thrilling new spirit of discovery and vitality. Venue and ticketing information:We are family friendly, but shows are 21+ unless accompanied by a parent. This is a general admission show. There are tables within the venue that are available on a first come, first serve basis. There is a garage door behind the stage that remains open in good weather so that you can enjoy the show from inside or outside. For more information visit our FAQ page or reach out to us directly.

Para Gozar—"for your enjoyment"—brings the timeless sounds of Cuba to life through original arrangements for an unexpected ensemble. Based in Asheville, North Carolina, the group explores the romance of boleros, the infectious rhythms of son and salsa, the storytelling of trova, and the danceable energy of cumbia through a unique combination of electric mandolin, guitar, bass, and virtuosic multi-instrument percussion. Rather than simply recreating familiar recordings, Para Gozar reimagines the music for its own distinctive sound, weaving intricate string arrangements with rich vocal harmonies and dynamic percussion. The result is music that feels both deeply rooted in Cuban tradition and unmistakably original—equally suited for dancing, listening, and celebrating.
He’s got the look (you won’t miss the fiery orange mustache), the chops (named one of the top 30 blues guitarists at the International Blues Challenge), the voice (smooth, soulful, and full of grit) and most importantly, he’s got heart that he brings to every note. Hailing from the hills of Eastern Kentucky, he calls his sound “Appalachian Space Funk” a genre-bending blend of gritty blues, deep funk, and Southern soul, and his vibrant stage presence is igniting stages across the country. Even if you’ve never heard his name before, there’s a good chance you’ve felt his vibe. Short is carving a name for himself as one of the most dynamic performers on today’s roots and jam circuit. He’s shared stages with Grace Bowers, John Oates, Jared James Nichols, Wynonna Judd, Ben Folds, Tommy Prine, Maggie Rose, Sierra Hull, Lucas Nelson, Tyler Childers, Kingfish, Marcus King, John Osborne, and Taj Mahal, and lit up festival crowds at places like Bonnaroo, FloydFest, Healing Appalachia, and Master Musicians Festival. This is lose-yourself, forget-the-world, dance-until-you’re-sweaty kind of music, and everyone is welcome. Whether you’re a diehard blues fan, a funk enthusiast, or just someone who wants to feel something real, a Jeremy Short show will leave you buzzing for days. Marc Ridge & The Revelers are a 3 piece band out of Lafayette Indiana. Playing a blend of Roots Rock, Blues and Country Soul. Ridge saw national and international success with his songs Ain’t a Rich Man, I’m So Tired and Beg For Rain out of his DIY home studio. Leading him to quit his day job and hit the road, playing stages large and small. The 3 piece band has been tearing up the south with its unique blues. Supporting acts such as The Black Crowes, The Allman Betts Band, Elvie Shane and Whey Jennings.
Every second Thursday of the month is Honky Tonk Night! This evening's featured band is Carolina Sage. Join us for line dancing lessons at 6:00 and music at 7:00. About the band: Born and raised in Muhlenberg County, KY (yes, the one from John Prine’s “Paradise”) on a small goat and horse farm in the heart of coal country, Grayson Jenkins is equal parts songwriter, storyteller, traveler and country music artist. At his core, Jenkins is a curious truth-seeker, observing and writing about his own choices and circumstances; along with those of family, friends and strangers. He finds inspiration in his travels, conversations at the grocery store, traumatic events, and really anything that life sheds an interesting light on. Jenkins' songs have gained the admiration of a loyal following, and fellow songwriters like Pony Bradshaw, Vincent Neil Emerson, and Nicholas Jamerson - all of whom have brought Jenkins on the road with them in the past two years. After 10+ years spent in Lexington, KY, where he obtained agricultural degrees from and worked for the University of Kentucky, Jenkins now travels extensively across the United States and beyond, staying for short stints in places that inspire him while maintaining a home base in Kentucky. Though he’s not sure where exactly to call “home” at this point in his life, he finds his purpose in the pursuit of songwriting and performing his brand of country music with over one-quarter million miles logged touring across the U.S., UK, and Canada. Like fellow Kentuckians, Sturgill Simpson and Keith Whitley, Grayson Jenkins has carved out his own corner in country music through the release of four independent albums and heavy touring. His releases have garnered the attention of American Songwriter and The Bluegrass Situation, while he has made festival appearances at Railbird Music Festival, Master Musicians Festival, and more. With a hopeful resignation and canny insight into the ways of the world, Jenkins delivers songs influenced by his own searches for truth, world travels, and turns of phrases found in the rich storytelling communities across Kentucky and beyond. As a listener, you may just find some truth in his songs for yourself.
Launched in August of 2020, Tuesday Casual Collaborations at 185 King Street has become a cornerstone of the vibrant Brevard music community. Every week Travis Book assembles a unique group of musicians for a one-time-only show, drawing on his vast network of friends and growing repertoire of musical styles. From Bluegrass to Blues, Songwriter to Americana, Country to Funk, Travis and his ever-evolving cast of local and national (even international) musicians consistently hit the sweet spot between preparation and spontaneity. “Eventually, I hope to play with everyone!” he occasionally boasts, and he’s well on his way. Travis has hosted a wide range of musicians, including: Anders Beck, Nicki Bluhm, Josh Daniel, Beppe Gambetta, Mike Guggino, Vince Herman, Sierra Hull, Cris Jacobs, Jim Lauderdale, Lindsay Lou, Steve McMurry, Mimi Naja, Tim O’Brien, Woody Platt, Jon Stickley, Kyle Tuttle, and Cristina Vane. He also regularly employs the skills of world-class local musicians like Jeff Sipe, Mike Ashworth, Tommy Maher, Bennett Sullivan, and Derick Gardner. Every week is unique, the musical styles wide-ranging, but the one thing that remains constant is the intention, positivity, and charisma that Travis brings to each and every show. This week Travis is on tour so he is handing the hosting duties over to John Cowan and Luke Bulla. When John Cowan and Luke Bulla perform together, their shows reflect 25 years of shared history, musical trust, and genuine friendship. Blending New Grass Revival (and more) favorites with old and new originals, they pair masterful picking, rich harmony, and stories that are heartfelt, funny, and hard-earned. Cowan calls Bulla “one of the most beautiful gifts” of his long musical life, while Bulla, inspired by Cowan since his youth, considers sharing the stage a “dream come true” and a source of “immense gratitude and honor”. Together, they deliver music rooted in gratitude, joy, and deep mutual respect.
Hailing from Annapolis, Maryland, the powerhouse trio Pressing Strings, led by guitarist and vocalist Jordan Sokel, has earned a loyal following with their genre bending blend of blues, rock, and folk, wrapped in soul-stirring storytelling and toe tapping grooves. Their music resonates with the emotional grit of blues, the laidback swagger of folk, and the urgency of modern rock. Whether delivering heartfelt ballads or energetic anthems, Pressing Strings weaves lyrical introspection and high-caliber musicianship that feels both fresh and familiar. Sokel’s smokey voice and intricate guitar work is complimented masterfully by a star rhythm section. Held down tightly by drummer Justin Kruger, an energetic and charismatic performer whose style mirrors his outside the box personality and unique approach to the instrument, and bassist Nick Welker, a solid and stoic figure who picks melodic lines and chordal voicings that makes the trio sound full and lush. All three members sing, adding harmonies reminiscent of southern California in the 70’s. Together they push the limits of what a trio can do, and provide an immersive, feel-good vibe that hits the audience’s heart as hard as it does the ears. Recently, the band has been touring the US coast-to-coast, headlining clubs and delighting audiences at festivals such as Palisade Roots and Bluegrass Festival, FloydFest, Annapolis Baygrass Music Festival, Firefly, Sweetwater 420Fest, and Cavefest, while sharing the stage with major artists like Gov’t Mule, Toad The Wet Sprocket, JJ Grey, and Neil Francis. For more information, visit https://pressingstrings.com Venue and ticketing information:We are family friendly, but shows are 21+ unless accompanied by a parent. This is a general admission show. There are tables within the venue that are available on a first come, first serve basis. There is a garage door behind the stage that remains open in good weather so that you can enjoy the show from inside or outside. For more information visit our FAQ page or reach out to us directly.

ALBUM RELEASE SHOW: Admiral Radio, the award-winning folk/Americana act from South Carolina, is the creative partnership of Coty Hoover and Becca Smith. Named after their old wooden radio, this husband-and-wife team blends heartfelt harmonies, storytelling, and raw sincerity. Having met while waiting tables in the Lowcountry, their sound is straightforward yet powerful—rooted in tight vocal interplay, finely picked acoustic instruments, and songs that explore the quiet hustle of ordinary life and the dogged optimism that drives it all. They are excited to bring their full band to Brevard for this special evening of songs and stories to celebrate the release of their new full-length album Heirloom, released on Too Fine Records out of Nashville. From humble beginnings to their growing buzz, Admiral Radio is redefining the folk tradition with every mile down America's backroads.

The music of Asheville, North Carolina based outfit Amanda Anne Platt & The Honeycutters is nuanced, bringing insight and wit to the stories Platt tells through songwriting. Lyrically driven, the band's country roots music often inspires introspection, whether it be about life on the road, heartache or hope. There is an empathetic and charming wit ingrained in Platt's songwriting. She has a knack for accessing a deep well of emotion and applying it to her storytelling, whether she is writing from her own experiences or immersing herself into the melody of emotions in another person's life.Performing along with Platt, The Honeycutters are Matt Smith (pedal steel and electric guitars), Kevin Williams (keys/vocals), Rick Cooper (bass/vocals), and Evan Martin (drums/vocals). Venue and ticketing information:We are family friendly, but shows are 21+ unless accompanied by a guardian. For this show you have the option of purchasing a table or a general admission ticket. When purchasing a table you are purchasing the number of tickets that the tables seats. For example if you purchase a 4-top table you are purchasing 4 tickets General admission tickets gain you access to the rear of the venue, behind the seated sections as well as the backyard. There are tables outside and limited seating in the indoor general admission area. For more heavily attended shows the indoor general admission area is standing room only. There is a garage door behind the stage that remains open in good weather so that you can enjoy the show from inside or outside. Our general rule is if the temperature will remain above 50 degrees for the duration of the show the door will remain open. For more information visit our FAQ page or reach out to us directly.
