The Alliance is made up of a dozen musicians in the Lowcountry of South Carolina with a common interest, and shared vocabulary in the blues. Drummer Brian Widllowski is from Charleston S.C., where he began performing professionally in the late 90s. As a student of recent Grammy award winning drummer Quentin Baxter, he graduated from The College of Charleston with a major in Jazz Performance. Over the past 25 years Widlowski has performed many styles and venues throughout the U.S. from local bars, to opening for Ray Charles at The Charleston Coliseum. Widlowski currently resides in Brevard. Guitarist, Eddie Phillips, is a native of Lancaster, SC. He relocated to the SC Low Country in 1977. He has performed professionally since he was 18 yrs old. His musical influences are from all over the music spectrum, but he has a particular fondness for traditional blues. Eddie has toured and performed extensively throughout the eastern US, numerous countries in Europe, Colombia and Macau (China); playing a wide variety of music festivals including the Chicago Blues Fest, Pocono Blues Fest, Lugano (CH) Blues to Bop Fest, Cognac (FR) Blues Fest, the Lionel Hampton Jazz Club (Paris) and the Maxwell Café (Paris) to name a few. Ross Bon was part of the Chicago music scene beginning in 1992 as a harmonica player and vocalist. He recorded with artists such as Willie “Big” Smith, Buddy Scott, Pinetop Perkins, Junior Wells, Dave Specter, James Cotton and Kim Wilson. In 1995, he joined with guitarist Gareth Best, bassist Jimmy Sutton, drummer Bob Carter, pianist Donny Nichilo and saxophonists Samuel Burckhardt and Jerry DeVivo to form the Mighty Blue Kings. They made their debut performance opening for the late Junior Wells at Buddy Guy's legends in Chicago; and followed up with a weekly residence at Chicago jazz club The Green Mill. Later, the band toured the US. The band's lineup for their 1997 release, Come One, Come All, consisted of Bon, Best, DeVivo on drums, bassist Brett Simons, keyboardist Simon Sweet and saxophonists Jonathan Doyle and Mark Colby. The band released two studio albums, Meet Me In Uptown (1995), and Come One, Come All (R-Jay Records). Together, they sold over 100,000 copies, with the latter having debuted in the top ten on Billboard's Blues Album chart. They subsequently released three additional albums, Live From Chicago, (reaching #14 on Billboard's Blues Album charts), the holiday record, The Christmas Album and Alive In The City. The Mighty Blue Kings disbanded around 2001. In early 2010 Ross Bon formed a new band under the name, Ross Bon & The Mighty Blue Kings. Venue and ticketing information:We are family friendly, but shows are 21+ unless accompanied by a parent. This is a general admission show. There are tables within the venue that are available on a first come, first serve basis. There is a garage door behind the stage that remains open in good weather so that you can enjoy the show from inside or outside. For more information visit our FAQ page or reach out to us directly.

Dreamy synths and enthusiastic mellotron accompany Michael Desmond’s reinvention on LOCAL NOMAD, which is also the pseudonym he creates under. Throughout the EP’s five tracks weave illustrious drum beats and vintage synths, melding together Paul Simon’s ‘70s aesthetic and the pop sensibility of Gnarls Barkley for an irresistibly catchy soundtrack to rapid change. “The idea for this collection of songs was born out of a turbulent time in my life,” Michael says. “I had gotten out of a six-year relationship, my artist name was stolen by someone I knew, my uncle passed away in a tragic accident, and I was gigging full-time while simultaneously working a day job to afford to finish up my college degree. I lost my balance, felt the weight of the world and I couldn’t find the comforts that come with a sense of home. I was at a crossroads and, I don’t want to say I was having a mid-life crisis, but I felt the need to get a lot of things off my chest.” A native of Long Island, NY, Michael and his orchestral indie-rock band, Gabriel the Marine, garnered regional attention and later performed nationwide with bands like Taking Back Sunday, Glassjaw, Mew, Jacks Mannequin, and The Dear Hunter. On LOCAL NOMAD, he returns as a blue-eyed soul dipped crooner, whose narrative lyrics combine with inviting elements of the future. The EP kicks off with “Love Is Gone,” an irresistibly fun listen about the inevitable celebration when the clouds clear after a breakup. “I wrote this song when I had gotten broken up with over the phone after being in a relationship for more than six years,” Michael says. “I wanted this song to be harsh, funny, and authentic,” he continues. “Like the phases of this relationship, it morphed through a series of versions as I grew more and more comfortable being lyrically vulnerable. It ended up as a coping mechanism for me as I discovered humor and came face to face with some harsh realities — we are just different people in the end, and once the love is gone, it’s time to let go.” Read More...

These are the times for The Dancing Fleas to liberate your inner geek and let you remember what it was like to not be so dang self conscious about what people might think. Go ahead, lay that burden down, brothers and sisters. Jump up out of that pew and come down front where we all can shout and sing! But here's the other thing: The Fleas are actually very good.
For nearly 25 years, Jay Sanders was the low-end anchor for Acoustic Syndicate, a band that has for decades been setting the pace for a style of music that fuses southern roots music, bluegrass, rock and roll, and a healthy dose of improvisation in an approach that now permeates the American music scene. Hailed as a progenitor of and inspiration to generations of jam and jamgrass bands, the group took its North Carolina-bred sound across the country more times than anyone kept count, appearing at Farm Aid, MerleFest, and Bonnaroo while releasing eight records, including two for Sugar Hill Records. Sanders held down that bass chair for a quarter century, the rhythmic and harmonic foundation beneath everything the band built. But before Acoustic Syndicate, there was Snake Oil Medicine Show, at once a rolling art party, world-music fusion band, and persistent meditation on the nature of causal existentialism, and the Acoustic Vibration Appreciation Society (AVAS), a progressive acoustic group that released their self-titled debut on Little King Records. Deeply influenced by newgrass pioneers Strength In Numbers, AVAS blended their own brand of genre-defying acoustic music with influences ranging from Bill Frisell and the Mahavishnu Orchestra to Scandinavian folk legends Väsen. As the bass player and major compositional contributor, Sanders was the foundation of both. What most people don’t know is that Jay began this entire journey, and briefly attended music school, as a guitarist. His earliest teachers didn’t hand him scales and chord charts. They spoke of fundamental vibration, sacred geometry, and the Music of the Spheres. They included Nashville legend Rob Jackson, the visionary Reggie Wooten, and Samurai Celestial, the former Sun Ra drummer who understood sound not as entertainment but as architecture, a way of organizing the invisible. These were lessons not in how to play, but in why. The musicians who now surround him carry roots just as deep. Will Boyd grew up steeped in the red clay church traditions of South Carolina, his voice moving through saxophone, flute, and EWI with the ease of someone who learned music as a spiritual practice before he ever learned it as a craft. Zack Page has been one of the most in-demand bassists in the region for three decades and one of Sanders’ closest musical companions, the two having made music together off and on for nearly 30 years. Page brings deep harmonic intuition and an unshakeable sense of foundation to everything he touches, the kind of player other musicians call first. Alan Hall has been in a conversation with rhythm for four decades, treating the drums not as timekeeping but as a language with its own grammar, its own poetry, its own capacity for surprise. Together, these four bring an accumulated depth of roots, study, and road experience that is rare in any room. And yet what they make together sounds like nothing any of them have made before, original music built in real time from instinct, attention, and the conviction that the best is always still ahead. Their compositions move through jazz, soul, Americana, free improvisation, and territories that don’t have names yet.
Pretty Little Goat is grassroots music at its finest. The band formed in 2013 through their common grounding in the deep well of local tradition found in the mountains of Western North Carolina. As young lovers of old-time music, Pretty Little Goat began winning string band competitions right away. Over the last six years the Goats have collaborated with many well respected local musicians including Jamie Laval, Blake Ellege, members of the Steep Canyon Rangers, Jeff Sipe, Jonathan Grey of Jump Little Children and many others. Members of the band are dedicated mentors to the next generation of musicians. Always looking for new and exciting ways to inspire young people, they have been deeply involved in the local JAM (Junior Appalachian Musicians) program, music camps, schools and more. Josh Carter- Mandolin Owen Grooms- Banjo Mallory Carter- Percussion Jonathan Grey - Bass Jackson Dulaney- Dobro Brian VanAntwerp - Fiddle Venue and ticketing information:We are family friendly, but shows are 21+ unless accompanied by a guardian. For this show you have the option of purchasing a table or a general admission ticket. When purchasing a table you are purchasing the number of tickets that the tables seats. For example if you purchase a 4-top table you are purchasing 4 tickets General admission tickets gain you access to the rear of the venue, behind the seated sections as well as the backyard. There are tables outside and limited seating in the indoor general admission area. For more heavily attended shows the indoor general admission area is standing room only. There is a garage door behind the stage that remains open in good weather so that you can enjoy the show from inside or outside. Our general rule is if the temperature will remain above 50 degrees for the duration of the show the door will remain open. For more information visit our FAQ page or reach out to us directly.

Lewendahl delivers smooth RnB vocals with funky instrumentation combining a joyous pairing of juicy licks with subtle nods to the soulful stylings of Tom Misch, HER, Leon Bridges and Cory Wong. This RnB, Neo-Soul and Rock inspiration came from founders Laura and Tim Levene's shared love of classic Motown and Soul music. The two gigged extensively as a guitar and piano duo in the Hendersonville and Asheville region, before adding bassist and Brevard native Derek Sandlin. Sandlin's gospel and soul roots immediately brought a unique depth and passion to Lewendahl's stylings. The band also brought on the wildly talented percussionist Jason DeCristofaro. Lewendahl debuted the group's first album “Colours” in 2024, and has been releasing singles in 2026.
Sam Morrow spent years knocking on doors that wouldn't budge, walking through ones that led nowhere, and closing others behind him. On his newest record, Southern Boogie, he's slammed the door shut on the Americana palate that defined his previous trilogy of releases and kicked open a new one. A cross-country move, change of perspective, and fresh outlook on life were catalysts that also steered Morrow to cross the threshold on a new sound. Make no mistake, that’s exactly what Southern Boogie represents — raw, Texas-bred southern rock that sounds exactly like what it is: Sam Morrow, confidently evolving. "Doors opening and closing is definitely a constant theme of the record,” Morrow says. “It's not only ending of a relationship, and a change of location, but my life was completely changing.” For years, Morrow has made records shaped by a period spent trying to reinvent himself in California and partially inspired by the new neighbors he suddenly found himself surrounded by. His earlier albums — Concrete & Mud, Gettin' By On Gettin' Down, and On The Ride Here — earned praise from NPR and Rolling Stone for their swampy blend of country funk, and roadhouse blues. And while those records were a huge part of his life. They also lined up to a time and place that he was leaving behind. Southern Boogie is what happens when you shed expectations. Recorded mostly live, in Austin, with producer Jonathan Tyler, the sessions were stripped-down and analog: two guitars, bass, keys, drums. All tube amps. No click track. No safety net. "Jonathan got it before I even explained it," Morrow says. "We just wanted it to sound gritty and raw. Like a band in a room, because that's what it is." The result is unapologetically guitar driven. Straight-ahead southern rock with a Texas backbone — ZZ Top's grit and groove without trying to sound like anyone but himself.
With the aim of creating more opportunities for unity and connection, Dulci brings an ageless, classic style to pop music with high energy, smooth vocals and warm melodies. This big-sound-band creates a rich soundscape that spans a broad range of genres from old-school soul to modern-day pop. Expect lots of vocal harmonies (Alyse Baca, Melissa Hyman) decorated with sparkling horn and synth lines (Charlie Humphrey), grooving bass and vocals (Kevin Williams), and electric guitar licks (Ryan Furstenberg) held together with intricate rhythms (Ross Montsinger) that will keep your head bopping. Dulci's upbeat original tunes combine her Appalachian roots in story-telling with impeccable musicality, while the diverse selection of covers highlight divas through the decades like Aretha, Amy Winehouse, and Robyn. This all-star cast of band members has been collaborating for over a decade, bringing a comfort and ease to their presence that makes the audience feel right at home.
Homegrown in the rich music scene of Virginia, The Wilson Springs Hotel is a 5-star quintet brought together within a union of genres - a high-energy folk act committed to rock & roll, bluegrass and classic country. Forming in 2021, the band released two albums in quick succession, while growing a steadfast audience from their fiery and memorable performances out on the road. The group is named after a historic hotel in Lexington, Virginia, home of lead vocalist/songwriter/guitarist Jacob Ritter. 2024 found the band releasing a handful of singles that showcase an even more thoughtful and driving sound. Ritter's lyrics cover a plethora of subjects, from love and loss, and one’s internal growth as a result, to the relatable woes of the modern working man. Songs such as “Pulling Weeds” (featuring sweeping melodies from fiddle player Brendan Boylan and guitarist Victor McManus), explore the struggle with repetitive mental loops, much like attempting to get nutrients out of the same-old spent garden. The bouncy, danceable, and crowd-pleasing sound of “Two Step Man” takes a tongue-in-cheek approach to noting the finer aspects of a new relationship, while being driven by a toe- tapping country shuffle courtesy of drummer Stephan LaRue and bassist/backing vocalist Andrew Carper. Through its constant growth, the band remains unwilling to conform to a single genre, as is evident in the way that this newer material celebrates the many influences instilled by the variety of sonic backgrounds each band member brings with them. Having had multiple appearances at wonderful regional festivals such as DelFest, FloydFest and Rooster Walk, it’s no secret that The Wilson Springs Hotel is best experienced in a live setting. They expertly package dynamic performances full of raw emotion, humor and storytelling, with song-by-song showcases of each player’s talents. You will undoubtedly enjoy the many lovely amenities offered to you during your stay with The Wilson Springs Hotel.
We Belong, is the eighth studio album from Sinkane, a band led by multi-instrumentalist Ahmed Gallab. And like much of Sinkane’s previous releases, it resists genre. It’s pop. It’s funk. It’s electronic. It blends the gritty punk newness of a 70s and 80s New York with the steady, foundational soul of the rhythms of his native Sudan. Though We Belong comes deep into the catalog of a long career, it also resists stagnation. It moves and travels—through words and eras, through emotion and healing. Gallab calls this album his “love letter to Black music,” and each track pulses with the energy of different eras and forms: the gospel-soaked “Everything Is Everything,” the dreamy, Quiet Storm-influenced Afro-beats of “Rise Above,” the 70s-funk of “We Belong” and its Sly Stone influence, the Stevie Wonder-edged “Another Day”—they tell a story about Black music and Black people. The album itself also reveals Gallab’s desire to create a work that not only reflected a community, but was made by one, too. We Belong assembles this community, makes it visible, to anyone willing to see, to hear, to feel. Gallab and Amanda Khiri, co-lyricist on most of the songs, passed notes across the digital divide. Audre Lorde, Toni Morrison, Ismael Reed, scraps of poetry. The pair turned these late-night ideas into fully realized compositions. Casey Benjamin, a multi-instrumentalist who has worked with jazz pianist Robert Glasper, left his touch on several tracks. Jazz trumpeter Kenyatta Beasley soared across three songs. Soul singer Bilal lent his voice. Rising artists like vocalists Ifedayo Gatling, of the Harlem Gospel Travelers, Tru Osbourne, Hollie Cook, and STOUT, joined this community as well. What had long been a solo endeavor by Gallab, suddenly became a collaborative experience. “Having all these people at my disposal [meant] I could actually be a producer,” he says. “I could zoom out a little bit and see what serves the song best? How can I make this better? Having a community around me really just allowed this to turn into something bigger than I could have ever imagined.” The result is an album that showcases freedom, in all its forms. Freedom to create, to move, to love, to live. The we of the title is all of us. All of us who have lost and found community. All of us who have reached into the past to find our future. And ultimately, it is the sound of an artist finding his way back to himself by stretching beyond himself. “In making this album, I realized very quickly that I got a lot of freedom in not making it about myself,” Gallab says. “I realized I'm more than just me, there's all of us, all of us together. It's much more about community and much more about connecting with other people. But maybe, that's how I've kind of come to find myself.” Video Venue and ticketing information:We are family friendly, but shows are 21+ unless accompanied by a parent. This is a general admission show. There are tables within the venue that are available on a first come, first serve basis. There is a garage door behind the stage that remains open in good weather so that you can enjoy the show from inside or outside. For more information visit our FAQ page or reach out to us directly.

There are two bands performing this evening. Rebecca Porter followed by Ramona and the Holy Smokes. Ramona and the Holy Smokes: Based in Central Virginia and with family roots in South Texas, Ramona and the Holy Smokes represent a new generation of honky tonk music. With powerful female vocals that cover an emotional range from determined to comic to vulnerable, and a talented backing band steeped in classic country and western styles of the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s, the band’s repertoire includes lush emotional ballads, quintessential two-step dance numbers, gritty country-rockers, and a unique blend of honky tonk and traditional Mexican styles that the group describes as “Mexi-tonk.” Drawing on the Mexican-American heritage of lead singer and songwriter Ramona Martinez, recognized by Wide Open Country as one of the "15 Latino Artists Shaping Country Music," Ramona and the Holy Smokes are simultaneously rooted in the traditional sounds of country music but unafraid of pushing boundaries and highlighting the connections across border cultures. Their self-titled debut LP offers the group the opportunity to explore this diversity of sounds, leaning into an authenticity and resiliency in songs that chart life’s ups and downs from the perspective of a female voice seeking to maintain a sensitivity and sense of wonder in a twenty-first century world filled with emotional highs and lows. read more.... Rebecca Porter: Born in Guam and raised in Virginia, Rebecca Porter writes unflinchingly personal songs that challenge the boundaries of genre and amplify voices often left out of the country canon. With commanding live performances and a cinematic debut album, Porter’s work invites listeners into stories of identity, resilience, and acceptance. Her 2023 EP Queen of the Local and 2025 debut album Roll With the Punches have earned national and international recognition, including features on NPR’s Mountain Stage, No Depression, The Bluegrass Situation, KEXP, and Lonesome Highway. Read more...
You might expect a band that calls itself Yarn to, naturally, tend to spin a yarn or two. “That’s what we do, we tell stories, live and in the studio, truth and fiction”,singer/songwriter Blake Christiana insists. “We don’t always opt for consistency. There’s a different vibe onstage from what comes through in our recordings. There’s a difference in every show as well, you never know what you’re going to get.” Yarn’s ability to persevere ought to come as no great surprise, especially for a band that spent two years honing their chops during a Monday night residency at the famed Kenny’s Castaway in New York’s Greenwich Village. In effect, it allowed them to rehearse onstage, mostly in front of audiences that often ranged in size from five to a hundred people on any given night. 10 studio albums followed -- Yarn (2007), Empty Pockets (2008), Leftovers Part One (2009), Come On In (2010), Leftovers Part 2 (2011), Almost Home (2012), Shine the Light On (2013), This Is The Year (2016), and Lucky 13 parts 1 & 2 (2019). The band then took to the road, playing upwards of 170 shows a year and sharing stages with such superstars as Dwight Yoakam, Charlie Daniels, Railroad Earth, Marty Stuart, Allison Krauss, Leon Russell, Jim Lauderdale, Leftover Salmon, Amos Lee, The Lumineers and many more. They performed at any number of prestigious venues -- Mountain Stage, Daytrotter, the Orange Peel in Asheville, the Fox Theater in Boulder, the 9:30 Club in D.C, South by Southwest, the Strawberry Festival, Rhythm and Roots, Meadowgrass, Floydfest and so much more, eventually surpassing 1,000 shows, half a million miles and performances in nearly every state. They’ve driven nonstop, made countless radio station appearances, driven broken-down RVs and watched as their van caught fire. They’ve paid their dues and then some, looking forward even as they were forced to glance behind.
