Music, Food and Brews in Brevard's Backyard

The Wobblers

Saturday, March 01
Doors: 12pm // Show: 8pm
$9 / Day Of : $12

The Wobblers, going into their 13th year in 2025 are a South Carolina, eight piece, genre defying, roots band pulling from New Orleans rhythms, and including elements of Memphis Soul, Chicago Blues, with heavy Hammond organ and brassy horns.

The band includes a 4 piece horn section, piano, organ, guitar, bass and drums, and plays about half original music, and half eclectic soul infused rearranged covers, (the song list is…..long. very very long)  and has performed locally and regionally for the last 11 or so years and has developed a cult following as one of Upstate South Carolina’s most original sounding bands.

The song list has continued to change over the years, with the spawning of new songs written by various members of the band. The theme usually goes back to a New Orleans soul sound with the brassy horns and second line rhythms played by Patrick Riley on the drums, with edgy, jazz elements mixed in that evoke the likes of Rhassan Roland Kirk, Sun Ra, and Thelonious Monk (you know…..in spirit).

At other times the Wobblers sound will call to mind the sound of the Kinks, The Band, Dr. Dog Elvis Costello, NRBQ.

In 2019 the Wobblers released their first full album, and in 2021 released a new EP, ASTRO III,  of original songs recorded by the band themselves and released on 7” vinyl.

The Wobblers have enjoyed a good following in the Upstate and neighboring regions, playing shows regularly and entrancing crowds with their diversity, energy, and soulfulness.

At the moment the band is constructing a studio where future recording will be done.

The Wobblers change the atmosphere wherever they play. The band takes you on a genre trip around the spectrum while always delivering a high energy professional show. Seeing the Wobblers live, gives the audience the feeling that they’re at the best party to be at that night.
