Launched in August of 2020, Tuesday Casual Collaborations at 185 King Street has become a cornerstone of the vibrant Brevard music community. Every week Travis Book assembles a unique group of musicians for a one-time-only show, drawing on his vast network of friends and growing repertoire of musical styles. From Bluegrass to Blues, Songwriter to Americana, Country to Funk, Travis and his ever-evolving cast of local and national (even international) musicians consistently hit the sweet spot between preparation and spontaneity.
Travis is out of town this week so he handed over the hosting responsibilities to trusted friend and collaborator, Mary Lucey. Mary is bringing her friends Billy Cardine and Anya Hinkle, and as three they are known as Tanasi. Tanasi’s world-inspired mountain music taps into the similarities of roots artists across the globe and helps craft it into a sound that has a way of seeping into those deep parts of your heart, bringing it home. This collaboration of three celebrated Asheville, NC-area roots artists, features the tight sister harmonies of MerleFest-winning songwriter Anya Hinkle and Mary Lucey (Biscuit Burners, Uncle Earl) with the inimitable dobro musings of Billy Cardine, who after his collaboration with Edgar Meyer’s Porous Borders of music, Jerry Douglas said “I couldn’t have picked a better example of where the Dobro is now or what the possibilities are with the instrument.” Members of the trio have toured the world over from Japan to India to Europe and across the US at festivals such as Bonnaroo, Rockygrass and Merlefest and on stages such as The Ryman Auditorium, The Kennedy Center and Carnegie Hall.

For this show you have the option of purchasing a table or a general admission ticket.
When purchasing a table you are purchasing the number of tickets that the tables seats. For example if you purchase a 4-top table you are purchasing 4 tickets
General admission tickets gain you access to the rear of the venue, behind the seated sections as well as the backyard. There are tables outside and limited seating in the indoor general admission area. For more heavily attended shows the indoor general admission area is standing room only.
There is a garage door behind the stage that remains open in good weather so that you can enjoy the show from inside or outside. Our general rule is if the temperature will remain above 50 degrees for the duration of the show the door will remain open.
