Hailing from Asheville, NC, Jason Curtis is a heartfelt singer/songwriter who finds inspiration in his country, blues, and gospel heritage. Originally from South Louisiana, Jason, alongside his wife Jackie and their children MacKenzie, Mirna, Kaden, and Lillie, have made the Asheville region their home for over two decades. Jason’s music, characterized by its authenticity and emotional depth, draws from his upbringing in the Deep South as a preacher’s son. He aims to write songs that resonate with his own life experiences, aspiring to evoke emotions in his listeners. “Great songs always make you feel something,” he asserts. Jason earned the title “One to Watch” for his original track “Sunday Afternoon” by the Nashville Songwriters Association International.
Jason founded the band “JC and the BS” in 2025 which features Claude Coleman Jr. (Ween) on Drums, Zach Smith (Town Mountain) on bass, Silas Hamilton (Town Mountain) on Pedal Steel and Matt Daniels, producer of the bands debut EP, Preachers Son, on lead guitar. To date the band has played historic venues in the Asheville area such as Jack of the Wood, Highlands Brewing, Edas Hideaway, Double Crown, Grey Eagle and the White Horse in Black Mountain, NC. The band is currently preparing for their first full length album they plan to record in early 2027 with plans to tour both regionally and nationally from Spring thru the Fall.
