Music, Food and Brews in Brevard's Backyard

Ed Jurdi & Friends with Tommy Maher and Zach Smith

Tuesday, June 24
Doors: 4pm // Show: 6:30pm
Launched in August of 2020, Tuesday Casual Collaborations at 185 King Street has become a cornerstone of the vibrant Brevard music community. Every week Travis Book assembles a unique group of musicians for a one-time-only show, drawing on his vast network of friends and growing repertoire of musical styles. From Bluegrass to Blues, Songwriter to Americana, Country to Funk, Travis and his ever-evolving cast of local and national (even international) musicians consistently hit the sweet spot between preparation and spontaneity.

Travis is touring this week so he is handing the hosting duties over to Ed Jurdi.  Ed is bringing along his friends Tommy Maher Fireside Collective, and Zach Smith Town Mountain.

About Ed Jurdi:
As a founding member and co- leader of the Austin, TX rock and roll outfit The Band of Heathens, Ed Jurdi’s voice, songwriting and musicianship have been key elements in defining the band’s kaleidoscopic American sound. From festival performances at Bonnaroo, Austin, City Limits, Lollapalooza, Wakarusa, and Hardly Strictly Bluegrass to over a thousand one nighters in clubs and theaters across the United States and Europe, Ed Jurdi has been a fixture in the Americana world and beyond for the better part of two decades.

Originally from the Boston area, Ed Jurdi has forged a sound both rooted in the past and pointing toward the future. An ardent student of the masters of American music, he brings the passion of a gospel sermon and juxtaposes it against a gathering of merry pranksters with a soulful delivery and timeless voice. Ed has called Asheville and the mountains of Western North Carolina home for the better part of a decade after spending eight years in Austin, TX.

So when the stage is set, the lights go dark, and Ed and Gordy take the stage, grab your drink, find your seat and settle in to witness the distilling of this rare musical brotherhood.

Venue and ticketing information:

We are family friendly, but shows are 21+ unless accompanied by a guardian.

For this show you have the option of purchasing a table or a general admission ticket.

When purchasing a table you are purchasing the number of tickets that the tables seats.  For example if you purchase a 4-top table you are purchasing 4 tickets

General admission tickets gain you access to the rear of the venue, behind the seated sections as well as the backyard.  There are tables outside and limited seating in the indoor general admission area.  For more heavily attended shows the indoor general admission area is standing room only.
There is a garage door behind the stage that remains open in good weather so that you can enjoy the show from inside or outside.  Our general rule is if the temperature will remain above 50 degrees for the duration of the show the door will remain open.
